Sounds of Silence

Authored by Michael Pate on April 27th, 2003 at 7:40 PM

“There was a well-orchestrated campaign to do that through hate radio and Web sites and voices that sprang from the (Bush) administration and said ‘take your choice, you’re with us or with the terrorists’. But the Dixie Chicks are back on the air and their record is number one again. Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon are not going to stop making movies for a long time. Janeane Garofalo has a (TV) pilot going forward. These ugly-mouthed people like to think they are more powerful than they are.” - Mike Farrell

Actually, the Dixie Chicks album is at 33, Janeane Garofalo has a pilot which is not yet a series (and the pilot she mentioned back in 2001 wasn’t picked up), Mike Farrell’s series, Providence, was cancelled, and Susan Sarandon’s tv movie bombed. Perhaps Tim Robbins will be the exception with his bit part in Mystic River or the limited release Code 46.
