Blogs and Elections

Authored by Michael Pate on May 1st, 2003 at 11:57 AM

Howard Kurtz is noticing that politicians like Gary Hart and Howard Dean have begun blogs although Dean has a stand-in, Matthew Gross, doing the posting. Ed Cone, who supported Tara Sue Grubb, is casually thinking of using his blog to launch a political campaign. Dave Winer is predicting something glorious will occur if everyone in New Hampshire were to blog the primary. I think more information is a good thing, but what is more likely, they will become just another PR tool, written and managed by professional campaign consultants and public relations firms.
