Comments from Dave

Authored by Michael Pate on June 15th, 2003 at 5:55 PM

I had no less than Dave Winer stop by this afternoon and leave some comments. Cool. (I also now have a Winer Number of 1. Double Cool) The problem is, after reading his comments, I still don’t know for sure what constitutes a “Funky” RSS Feed. But I am going to go out on a limb and hope that Randy has figured it out. I am not only going to implement his template, but his button as well. Dave says I should contact Six Apart, but I don’t understand why I should contact them to figure out what he means.

Oh, and in answer to Dave’s point, I have always tried to use the quotes that will are not only the most relevant, but also will cause the reader to want to go back to the original source and read the whole thing in the original context. I could have added someone else’s but the post was about Dave’s words, so it was Dave’s words that I used.

Addendum(June 18):After I determined that the new feed would not validate, I decided to switch to the standard Movable Type template. And since this did not qualify for the unfunky label, I returned the icon to normal.
