Bill O'Reilly channeling Cass Sunstein

Authored by Michael Pate on June 16th, 2003 at 11:21 PM

Oliver Willis and Glenn Reynolds have written about Bill O’Reilley’s attack on the Internet. Having watched the segments Friday Night, I don’t have anything to add except it was odd to see O’Reilly arguing the case Cass Sunstein has been making. Sunstein’s argument is rendered insensible by anyone who has spent more than 10 minutes surfing the blogosphere. And while I certainly agree with Oliver that the First Amendment protects Americans, I am dying to ask Professor Sunstein just how he would regulate the speech of Dean Allen, Adam Curry, Firda Beka and Joichi Ito. Finally, getting back to Bill O’Reilly, I think he needs to stop and think about what he was saying the other night (something he is not really known for).
