We are all Iranians

Authored by Michael Pate on July 9th, 2003 at 11:04 AM

Dozens of people are already demonstrating in front of the Iranian Embassy in Rome in solidarity with the students of Tehran on the fourth anniversary of the first student demonstration which was bloodlily repressed back in 1999. The initiative, launched by the daily ‘Il Riformista’, will go on until 4pm in front of the Via Nomentana Embassy and will end this evening in Campo de’ Fiori. The demonstrators are carrying boards with “We are all Iranian” emblazoned on them. Amongst them are regular people who are responding to the appeal of the newspaper’s editor Antonio Polito, they are high school and university students, and representatives of the Refounded Communist Party, who are all waving peace flags. - Agenzia Giornalistica Italia
