Misquoting Abraham Lincoln

Authored by Michael Pate on December 1st, 2003 at 11:51 PM

There’s no honorable way to kill, no gentle way to destroy. There is nothing good in war. Except its ending.

Many people atribute the above quote to Abraham Lincoln. See for yourself.

But the question is, who actually said it? It was Abraham Lincoln. Confused? Well, it was Abraham Lincoln as portrayed by actor Lee Bergere in the Star Trek episode, The Savage Curtain. Writing is credited to Arthur Heinemann and Gene Roddenberry. If you would actually like to hear it, scroll down to 21.

Of course, Mr. Lincoln is said to have said many things that he did not.
