Made the Upgrade

Authored by Michael Pate on May 23rd, 2004 at 10:34 PM

I spent a good portion of the evening upgrading the site to Movable Type 3.0D and figuring out how to include the new commenting stuff without damaging the page design. I think I succeeded but it may take some time to pin everything down. I was probably overly-cautious but I like to be careful.

I also turned on TypeKey. I am happy to have comments, and I hope the commentors will be happy to register through there. If it becomes a problem, I will deal with it then. I may re-evaluate things when MT-Blacklist gets upgraded.

I also had a comment to make after reading through the comments on the Movable Type licensing question. Bloggers tend to be evangelists by nature. So many people are hosting a blog for their brothers, sisters, nephews, neices, or second cousins twice removed. No one wants to pay $10.00 to see if that person is going to continue or not. Either that provision changes, or Blogger gets an even bigger boost.
