With Supporters like These...

There was a time in America when if you’d spoken of the Democrat Franklin Roosevelt as a liar, a traitor, and a warmonger during World War II, accused him of engineering the Pearl Harbor attacks, referred to our war over there as “Roosevelt’s war” (as a few dipsh*t Republicans did back then) you might well have gotten yourself a bloody nose even in the most Republican counties in America. Because debate all you want but, once a decision is made, partisanship should stop at the water’s edges. At least so far as I’m concerned. - Dean Esmay

I am concerned that every time something happens that’s not good for President Bush he plays this trump card, which is terrorism. His whole campaign is based on the notion that “I can keep you safe, therefore at times of difficulty for America stick with me,” and then out comes Tom Ridge. It’s just impossible to know how much of this is real and how much of this is politics, and I suspect there’s some of both in it. - Howard Dean

Dean’s conjecture, even if it turns out to be wrong, is reasonable. - Dave Winer

“I don’t care what he said. I haven’t suggested that and I won’t suggest that. I do not hold that opinion. I don’t believe that.” - John Kerry

I have no doubt that many conservatives would support John Kerry during the War on Terror just as FDR was supported during World War II and Bill Clinton during Bosnia. It is his current supporters that he would need to worry about.

The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not “insurgents” or “terrorists” or “The Enemy.” They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow — and they will win. - Michael Moore

And maybe the rest of us should worry about them as well.
